<3 Mom

i'm currently sitting on the toilet locked in my bathroom with my dog.
I was sitting happily at the kitchen table enjoying a dinner of carrots and baba ganouj when the wind knocked over stef's "can bag" in the backyard and i screamed at the top of my lungs and sprinted here, somehow having the reflex to pick up my laptop.
luckily my dog loves me enough to follow my lead.
i dont know how long i will stay in here until my nerves calm down, i sincerely wish more people were online at 10pm on a gorgeous 22 degree thursday night. ugh.

on another note, two weeks from saturday mike gets home. this is nothing but good news of course, but there are so many things i wanted to do while he was gone, so i need the weather to improve so i can do them.
estrogen highs will be my drug of choice for the next little bit, and anyone who wants to give into the craving with me is more than invited. no peer pressure.

boston was fun. mom was embarassingly tourist-y but its one of thousands of reasons to love her.

Here are some things that made me happy this weekend:

• coming home from my sister's grad to a slew of wonderful girls and grilled chicken salad.
• painting my toe nails in the sun with stef.
• going for (shitty tasting) ice coffees with stef and her mom and lola.
• groceries with stef and tay.
• delicious healthy dinners
• sangria maison
• the absolute funnest karaoke night i've had in a while.
• garage sale gems hunted down with my beloved little sister.
• bonding with mom
• mike's little brother's face when he saw the new bike his parent's got him.
• mike's mom <3
• the new belts, pouffy mattress cover and new lamps mike's parents gave me.
• the fact that the hotel room in hampton beach is booked for july 4th weekend!!

If this weekend was ANY indication of what summer 08 is gonna be like then i'm in an unconditionally good mood.

It's freezing cold and raining outside, but instead of being bummed, i'm excited to be curled up at work in a hoodie and leggings watching some girlie movie i have not picked yet.

now i cant wait to get off work tomorrow to go and pick them up.

i have created the ultimate budget for myself. here is what it involves:
-home bbq's instead of restaurants
-400$ monthly spending allowance (including small weekend trips)
-pretending i have no ebay account and no eyeballs when i walk by a store i like
-giving a preassigned amount to my mom the day i get paid so she can save it for me.
-having 3000$ by october 16th so i can go to paris and live like a queen!!!



I am really proud of myself right now, my mom is being really helpful and making sure this happens by agreeing to take the money i have budgeted to save and putting it in a savings account i cannot touch or see.


paris 2008 will be the best trip ever.


it means i only go back to school in the winter, but when i get back from paris i will work full time straight to christmas and then find a part time job with tips and be a student again with a fresh cultured worldly view on life!

well my walk to work this morning was quite an interesting one!

First an old construction worker who was pouring fresh cement hollered at me:
"hey la ptite, ca t'tente tu d'te planter les deux pieds drete dans le ciment citte pour qu'j'puisse t'regarder toute la journee"
i felt it was the strangest and also most creative pickup line i had heard. i contemplated giving him the finger but just kept walking.

Then an old asian man (i would say approximately 65 years old) stuck his head out of his car window to open his mouth and stick his tongue out at me. I could not tell if he was a pervert or a retard, but either way this time i opted for giving him the finger.

Then i walked past underworld and saw a hot blonde waving at me. I went in and had a short chat with good ol' Lloydie and admired her nice new frames!!

a couple blocks before my work is stef's work and i decided to walk by with some kind of silly hope that she would be outside tanning or something. instead there were a bunch of secretaries and archives employees who i just barely dodged before sprinting the rest of the way to the employee entrance of the hotel.


before all this my morning was spent bonding like crazy with my puppy at the dog park and then being horribly heartbroken as she sat there shaking and crying while i left for work.


my work just asked me to work 11-9 on thursday. why am i incapable of saying no to them even though thats the last thing in the world i want to do??

In Mike's absence, and with far too much time to think and plot and plan at work, I have somehow turned this idea of going to Paris in the fall into a very probable reality!

Images are no flying through my head of early morning walks to pick up fresh baguettes. Kisses by the water. Holding hands on cobblestone streets in cute shoes. French bistros and people watching.

will be turning down drinking dates, late nights, and big meal plans. don't pass judgement. don't try to tempt me. i'm doing this for me.

A combination of Kate Moss being gorgeous on this months Vogue Paris, having watched the cutest two french movies and knowing I have a free place to stay there has made Paris my most recent destination of choice.

i like having goals. it helps make time go a little faster while he's gone.

my moods these days smell like rotten sour milk and i cant figure out why.
for the first time in years it has nothing to do with money.
i'm all anxious and panicky and i have no idea why.
