one year later.
With a lot of team work we got our tent up before it got completely dark out.
Mike earned his title as Firemaster after building us a huge warm campfire out of a damp bag of fire wood.

lola was immediately the happiest dog in the world to be able to run around in the grass and eat tree branches all night with her two human parents.

we got out the food we had brought and snacked all night on tostitos with cheese dip and roasted marshmallows. i taught mike the art of smore making, and we devoured enough of them to feed a small army:

we woke up without any alarm clock the next morning having no idea what time it was. we made ourselves a delicious breakfast and put a sleeping bag out in the sun hoping to get a little tan.

a few hours later we got a little sad that it was probably already late afternoon and our weekend would soon be over, but then we looked at the clock and were both so excited to see that it was only 10h30 am and we had an entire day of cloudless skies, bright sunshine, our own personal beach and campfire/food making ahead of us.
we celebrated by jumping in the lake and then doing "leech checks" every 15 mins.
lola even jumped in a few times! what a real life dog !!

when we were done frolicking in the lake water we went for a walk with lola and ran into sergio's parents two campsites away from us. they fed us delicious portuguese chicken and couscous and we hung out with them for a bit before going back to our campsite to eat more marhsmallows and be cute some more.

we decided that night was the ideal time to crack open the bottle of champagne mike's parents gave us for our anniversary . and so we did. i can't really remember if we got wasted or not, but the pictures sure seem to imply that we did:

the next day we woke up pretty early again only this time it was raining, we saw a mama duck and her four little babies swimming in the lake. we made breakfast ate it and then packed everything up. the ground and picnic table were all wet so we decided to head out early and spend the day watching movies at his mom's house.
when we got there we put on the last of the chocolate cupcake face masks i had from lush and watched Stardust, an amazing movie for anyone who liked "The Princess Bride" back in the day.

i braided mike's hair and we gave lola a bath and then had a delicious home cooked dinner with wine and strawberries to finish off our anniversary weekend.

finally we drove to my parents house to pick up some stuff i had left there last week and we went back to cuddle in his bed and reminisced about all the wonderful moments from the last year until we were both too sleepy and then we went to bed.
so in love :)

loop
a bunch of people told me about MGMT about 6 months ago saying how much i would like them, and i never gave it a chance.
now i'm the millionth person in the world looping this song on my iPod and in my head.
Either way, it is my mid june 2008 anthem. it makes me dance and sing and smile at the same time and it reminds me of friday night girl's nights, cuddles with my boyfriend, popcorn and movies and road trips to the beach all at once.
i love good summer anthems. i also love when mother nature is nice to me and sends me some sun this weekend? thanks so much.
new kittens are too cute to be real.

dancing on benches.
6 wonderful ladies all got together with the intention of having a girls night. And a girls night we did have!
Dresses were worn, Makeup was done, Hair was made big, Heels were sported, Nails were painted, Music was played, Martinis were drank, Pictures were taken and we danced. Oh how we danced!
I don't care about how much fun I would have made of us had I seen us walking down the street, I had one of the most funnest nights I have had in ages!
Yay girls!

MY BOY IS BACK!
Friday, June 13, 2008
i have made a list (of course) of the things in my life that are so close i can taste them:
- ysl exhibit
- nars nude lipstick
- 105 lbs
- family time tomorrow
- MIKE KISSES
- time with mike's fam on sunday
- camping camping camping!
- HAMPTON BEACH 2008!!!!!!
tonight
If the YSL exhibit with Stef and Isa doesn`t put me in a girly mood, then surely going to buy the lipstick i have been eyeing forever will.
And if that still doesn`t do the trick then setting up mirrors, candles, hair products, a rolling rack of dresses and array of girly snacks and drinks should be fool proof.
I really do think it`s going to be amazing.
Tomorrow will be just as wonderful, if not more-so because its the day my boy comes home. I will be having breakfast with the fam and spending the day tanning in the front yard, sanding down a desk with my sister and watching lola frollick in the grass all day. And then at night after some more binging and family time Mike will lovingly return to my arms and we will spend the whole rest of the weekend gazing into each other`s eyes.
Oh life is good. so good.
skinny dip
And the leaves in the trees
All the broken bits that make you jump up
And grassy bits in between
All the matter in the world is how much I like you.
Right birds can fly so high
And they can shit on your head
And they can almost fly into your eye
And make you feel well scared.
But when you look at them
And you see that they're beautiful
That's how I feel about you
Right, that's how I feel about you.
I drank about 4 cups of diet tea yesterday so I'm anticipating spontaneous sprints to the bathroom all day long, but in between those, I think I'll probably be expressing myself right here all day long.
I can't wait for the ladies night tonight! Sangria, face masks, painted toe nails, hair did, Britney spears, and cute outfits will lead to juicy gossip, sweet dance moves and a night for the books. at least I'm hoping.
until then, celebrity blog lurkage, more lists on Microsoft Word, hopefully a text war or two, and a whole lot of pointless web surfing. All of which will be the material of the many many posts that you will have to read today if you are anywhere near as bored as me!

I made myself a fitness sheet for this summer outlining the goals i have and how i'm gonna reach them.
I also decided that if i stick to my savings plan (and throw on a little extra whenever i can) i will be able to buy myself a couple of nice items while i'm in France and they will mean a lot more to me than had i bought them on e-bay before even going.
Namely, if i can afford it, a pair of these bebe's:

And a pretty little weekender bag, something along the lines of, although not limited to this:

my gorgeously bearded man (who has apparently gone cross eyed in my absence - most likely because he misses me so much) will be there to guide me. Anyone who has ever shopped with him knows he is the best person to have by your side.

i'm about to settle down with my ham sandwich and watch Kung Fu Panda now

but i will still be bored at work for another 4 hours so text me, message me, email me, call me...anything!
Dear Isabel
RBC sent me a credit card in the mail this week with a 2000$ limit on it. I never applied for this card you must understand, but when it came, I thought about activating it just to get myself one or two key things that I have desperately been wanting for the summer and my trip to Paris.
Our little msn talk today quickly changed my mind and made me remember how sad it made me to get a visa bill in the mail every month, especially when i stopped being able to pay for them.
Instead you talked to me about Paris and how excited I must be for it. Immediately after you said that i transferred 200$ into my savings (the amount i would have spent on the bag i wanted on e-bay) and chopped up the card that they sent me tossing the remains in the garbage.
You're a sweet sweet lifesaver and a pretty good looking lady!
This friday i will buy you a drink because I will be able to afford it now that you stopped me from being the silly and indulgent!!
Please be my life coach forever! I think you're pretty cute!

prankster
Black Jack was wonderful from beginning to end. First I went to a little restaurant down the street, some fancy little tapas bar place that had a really delicious sounding potato and apple salad with grilled sardines. I’m all about smelly delicious tasting fish when it’s incorporated into something delicious, like potato salad. What I wasn’t expecting, was two whole - surprisingly large - fish placed delicately one on top of the other in the shape of an “x” gently resting on top of my potato salad.
They were looking right at me, and since I was alone and didn’t want to draw attention to the sad lonely blonde girl eating potatoes by herself on a summery Thursday night, I opted to toss them aside and avoid causing a scene. I wasn’t sure what the most tactful way to deal with this situation was, so I called Mike. He basically laughed at me and told me to ask the waiter how one goes about eating an entire fish, bones, eyeballs and scales included.
Just to make the experience weirder, the waiter came over and interrupted my phone convo with Mikey to ask me a “personal question.”
Waiter: “Is your name Pascale? Cause the guy in the kitchen is convinced he knows you....”
Me: “no. That is not my name”
Waiter: “oh. Ok. How’s the salad?”
Me: “delicious. Thanks”
Back to dinner...Mel eventually called and joined me and we spent the rest of the meal giggling about the prospect of asking the waiter to give me the two dead fish to go.
They came in handy, as I had planned, when I decided on putting the fish in stef’s beer while she was looking away (thanks to distractions from Angus, Casey’s pseudo brother.)
Her screaming and crying led her to hide her face in a video lottery machine which someone had forgotten to cash out on. Her intentions were of course to take the receipt and cash out herself, but the two angry looking Asian gamblers who came back looking for their money scared her out of it and she gave the ticket to Dave who pretended to play a machine for 5 minutes and then cashed in himself.
I let myself get a lil bit drunker than I had planned and enjoyed the mild buzz and indulged in a whole lot of staring at John Milchem who was DJ-ing. Of course I made sure always to stand directly in front of him since his eyes are positioned much like the sardine I put in stef’s beer and he can only see people in his periph. I think he might be related to Chrissy Shirlz. Could be his dad.
I woke up in a panic ten minutes before my alarm was supposed to go off. I was happy to see I had more time than I had anticipated having to get going. So I took Lola for a walk and moved mike’s car before missing my bus and sprinting to work in the rain. As I walked I looked through my text message outbox from last night to see who I may have drunkenly texted.... the only one that surprised me was a picture message I apparently sent mike last night while I was peeing . It’s a Fido ad I saw in the stall I was in:
Sometimes I wish I was on a reality show so a camera could capture moments like the one when I decided a pug wearing an afro was the ad in the world.
Good to see Casey, Dave, Kristina, Olivia, Stef, Mel, My new friend Angus, Stef’s brother and the two John’s that have met me 16-65 times and still never recognize me.
Hurray for rainy Fridays after a night out when nobody comes to the pool at all and I get to sit here and eat my banana and write blogs all merry day!
I’m in one of those warm fuzzy moods that has got me simultaneously taking trips down memory lane and daydreaming about my future.
A combination of how spontaneously fun last night was and the fact that it’s the weekend in exactly 3 and half hours has got a permanent grin plastered across my face.
I’ve decided to indulge my nostalgic side with a playlist comp involving Usher, TLC and the backstreet boys. Not only has this motivated me to get in touch with about 5 different people I have not seen or spoken to in months, possibly years, but I’ve also managed to make plans with one of my most dearly missed childhood pals!
Life is good today even though I missed my bus and had to power walk in the rain at 6h25 am to get to work on time. But I made it 5 minutes early, and have even managed to find the self control to decline the slice of over greased pizza and soda that my boss offered me as a kickoff celebration to Grandprix weekend.
You’d think the ridiculously high influx of douche bags decked out in Ferrari attire would have me in a bad mood, but somehow my hormones are on my side today.
This ticklishly good mood I’m in has got me day dreaming and writing long lists of wonderful happy things, here are a few that stand out – a melange of things I’m reminiscing about and images of my near future:

favors.
i forgot how heart breaking it is to leave her at home now that stef is gone back to work as well and although i don't really have any money to pay anyone to walk her, i could give lots of kisses, and offer any food that's in my pantry!
she has a new diamond collar so you will feel like royalty while you walk her. and if you're single, she is the perfect convo starter with rich older men.
on another note, if anyone knows how to fix bikes, mine is locked at a meter on the corner of metcalfe and de maisonneuve waiting for a handy man/lady to fix it. something is broken and the screeching sound of metal rubbing on metal while i bike gets louder and louder as i gain speed. no fun. people scream at me to get my bike fixed.
HELP!
