Hair Inspiration : Gibson Girls

Photobucket
Organic's Depression Chic look found here; Gibson Girl via image search; Luella SS09 Collection

I think I may be repeating myself on this one, but I am really in love with the Gibson Girl inspired pile-all-your-hair-on-top-of-your-head look.
I'll admit, when I have the time, I enjoy spending an hour or so doing my hair and trying out new things, but for the most part, I just don't have time and get frustrated really easily with my hair, and this seems like the perfect solution. Lazy yet elegant!
For now I still need several bobby pins to actually keep my hair up, but soon, soon my hair will be long enough to just lazily throw it all up there and stick it with a pin!
How perfect is having all your hair off your shoulders on hot, sticky, summer days?! (If they ever decide to arrive!)

On another note, two very exciting new Zooey movies are coming out in the next few months...the first brought to my attention by Isabel, and the second by Stef:

The Gibson Girl 'do is one of my all-time favorites! I haven't done it in ages (last spring was the last time I pinned it up like this), but I love the romantic, slightly hap-hazard look. :)

I'm liking the kind of messier modern versions of the Gibson hair and I can't wait for both of these films! Zooey is just such a cutie pie and always plays such wonderfully quirky roles :)

Casey: I'm jealous your hair is long enough! It's such a great do!

Sally Jane: Good thinking! I should get on that right away!

Design Dig: It's perfect! I just don't have the energy to put hours into my hair every morning!

Copperoranges: I am so excited to see them both!

Lauren: Aww! Mine is pouffy enough, just nto long enough to stay up there just yet! But at least you have your friend to live vicariously through! :)

Frances Baker: I know I want mine to grow so i can work it into my look! :P

Silvie, Fashion Chalet & Eunice: I can't wait either!

Missa: I know! I always walk out of her movies feeling like I want to be more like her character! even Yes Man! was awesome and i really dislike Jim Carrey! haha!

Lara Natascha: thank you so much! you're so sweet! I'll be adding your link to my blogroll for sure! xo
